Guitarist or Bassist, there will comes times when we want something more pimpin’ for our gear. You got that nice shaped guitar body, nice matching paint headstock, lovely fretboard. And the last thing to complete your guitar’s sound, you decide to swap out your stock pickups for an aftermarket pickups.. Now your tone is sizzlinggggg!
But, something just doesn’t seem right..
That’s right! Most of the times, the color combination of your guitar’s pickup colour actually helps boost, or if unfortunate, bring down the look of your guitar. Colored pups adds attitude to the guitar, whether you like it or not!
And all because? It’s rare to get your hands on some of those white, zebra, cream, blue, red, or even blue / white pickups around here. And as we all know, if somehow we manage to find one rare colored combination pickup, the price is usually much higher than a normal black colored pickup. But “Why?”, you may ask. That is not for me to answer.

So usually we settle with the usual black colored PUs (pickups), and after installing, only to realize that it looks as the same usual boring PU seen on almost every guitar.
Yes, there are now even pickup covers been sold. But the thought of covering your original PU’s metal coil/poles with another plastic/metal? I wouldn’t even want to mention the tone/frequency lost that may be involved.. So you tell me.
The next best thing? I am offering custom paintjobs for Guitar or Bass pickups!
My rates for now are just a mere: (prices are subject to change without prior notice)
Half side of a Humbucker, Zebra style. (Black/White) – If your pickup is originally black, the original side won’t be touched. – RM25
Whole Humbucker, White. (Or black, if your PU is originally white in color.) – RM35
Custom color for Half side of Humbucker, (ONLY Cream/Blue/Red/Purple/Yellow available for now.) – RM30
Any other color for Whole Humbucker, (ONLY Cream/Blue/Red/Purple/Yellow available for now.) – RM40
Single coils, (ONLY Cream/Blue/Red/Purple/Yellow available for now.) – RM25
(Any color other than Black or White are subject to availability. Please inquire in advance.)

- You may choose to have your PU’s pole pieces colored up together in the same color. OR you may request that your PU’s pole pieces not be touched.
Now you don’t have to trouble yourself by selling your current PU just to get that zebra PU you have been eyeing at the store, or worry about any unforeseen problems you may face by using aftermarket pickup covers. :)
